Race Recap
Drew, Sandy, Jen and I started the morning at 3:30 AM. We piled in the car, stopped for a sheetz coffee, and drove an hour and a half to Youngstown Ohio. The race started at 7AM, and the weather was just terrible. It was cold and rainy and even began to sleet. It poured about 5 miles into the bike. I decided not to wear arm warmers or socks and paid for it on the run. It took about a half mile before I could feel my toes, but I was still able to hold a decent pace. Overall the race went well as I took my first triathlon win for 2006. To make the day even better, I received a $100 gift certificate to the Second Sole Running store in Youngstown and $140 dollars worth of tires from Cycle Sales Company for winning the race. A big thank you goes out to all race sponsors and volunteers!!! |
