Feeling a slight head cold coming on, I wasn't sure how well I would be able to run today. Shawna and I left my apartment at 8:30 AM, and arrived at Frick Park an hour early. Still way to cold out to run, we waited in the car until 9:45, warmed up about a half mile and off we went on the fun 8 mile race. I went out hard but not as hard as winner and elite runner Dan Holland. I've ran many of races over the past two years with Dan, and he really is quick. When the starting gun finally went off, the temperature was only 35 degrees with a wintery mix of rain and snow. As I finished the first one of two four mile loops, I was in a strong second place with two other runners about 200 meters back. Jonathan Kelly, one of the two runners gave me a good push as he began to get closer to my heels. I pushed hard the final two miles and had even splits on the loops. Overall a great way to spend Thanksgiving morning.
