Last Long Run of the Season

Finished. That was the only thing I thought last night after my last long run of the season. After I got home from work, I laced up my running shoes and set off on my FINAL 16 mile run of 2008. I ran the first hour easy, and then picked it up the next hour as I met up and ran with some local running friends. The time flew by and my legs felt surprisingly good. Typically after a long run I'm sore and stiff, but not last night. After the run I was still full of energy. Jen and I caught up on some Thursday night TV (Survivor, The Office, and The Pen's game) before heading off to bed. Tomorrow I'll be 14 days out from Clearwater, and I am starting to get my game face on. The only bad thing is this stinking weather. I have scheduled a 4 hour ride tomorrow, and a 4 hour brick on Sunday. There's two cold fronts moving into the area tonight that could bring anywhere from 1-2 inches of rain with wind gusting at 10-15 mph. So none the less, I have a feeling I'll be doing my workouts indoors on the trainer. :(

I'm looking forward to a good month to month and a half of rest and relaxation over the holiday season! Just enough time off to start thinking about 2009. And then, all sights on the Big Island.
