Happy New Year

First off I'd like to say Happy New Year to you all. Jen and I had an awesome time at our friend Joe and Sheryl's for New Years Eve. It was our first time there for new years and we were only planning on staying there for an hour or two, but ended up never leaving! There was tons of great food and of course the "White Elephant" gift exchange. Jen and I ended up getting Denny and Eric's old / broken 5K running trophies, Drew got this awful ceramic chicken, Lisa got some blow up air shoes, and Alan gave away his teeth moldings (you know those castings the dentist makes before you get teeth work). There were many other awesome gifts and I'm already thinking of a gift idea for next year! As for New Years day Jen and I took it easy and the highlight of the day was watching the NHL Penguin Ice Bowl game played outside at Buffalo's football stadium in front of over 70,000 people. It was by far the coolest hockey game I've ever seen. Much better than any college football bowl game! :) We spent the rest of the night watching TV, relaxing, and I also spent a good majority of the day transferring my 350+ CD collection to iTunes. Doug and his girlfriend were out our way and stopped over for a minute to say hello. After that it was dinner and off to bed. The alarm went off quite early this morning and Jen and I were soon off to the YMCA for our swim workout. The roads were covered with snow and it took probably an extra 10-15 minutes to get there. Once we got the YMCA, swimsuit on, we opened the door to the pool and it was LOCKED!!! NO LIFEGUARD! I guess the lifeguard doesn't have 4WD, so it was back in the shower and off to work. It figures, the one time I wake up to swim, I don't get to swim. The good news is that I made it to work early and get to leave at 3:30. This way I'll head straight to the pool after work before my trainer ride.
