Another 50+ mile ride in the bag

Well this morning started off pretty slow. I had a really hard time getting out of bed and was really feeling like I could have slept for another 3 or 4 hours. We got out of bed around 7:30 and that gave me about an hour and a half to wake up and get moving. Paul arrived right on schedule as normal at 9:00 AM. It wasn't too cold of a morning, and I hate to say but 35 degrees on the bike is starting to feel normal. We were off for our long ride of the weekend, and unlike last weekend where I spent over an hour above my Lactate Threshold, I told Paul I really wanted to stick to the workout and take a conservative approach. Overall I felt really good on the bike once I got moving but my dang left knee started to bother me again around 2 hours in. I feel like it wasn't as severe as the past two weeks so that's a good sign I guess. I got some ultrasound done yesterday on the tendon to help speed the recovery and that seems to do the trick after 2 or 3 visits. After I got home I wolfed down leftover pasta and pizza from our dinner last night and imported my garmin into training peaks. I know that we did a lot of climbing today but the GPS said we did over 8K feet of climbing....I'm a bit skeptic of those numbers. If that's the case, I'm happy because we averaged close to 18 mph!!! (but I do think it's wrong)
It's off to the gym soon for a 45 minute workout with the weights.
