3 hours of wet
Well sorry all for again a 4 day absence from my blog, but again I've been super busy lately. Let start off with Thursday. I put in a pretty long day at work today, and after work Jen and I headed out for an hour run with the Irwin gang. Thursdays run was extremely cold. It had to be the coldest night of the winter so far. After 3 or 4 miles I literately couldn't feel my toes, but by the end of the run I managed to get in close to 8 miles. We went in to Giant Eagle real quick for some granola snacks, and then I headed over to the gym for 45 minutes. After the gym I just went home and went to bed. When we woke up Friday morning we had all intentions of going swimming but Jen wasn't feeling well, and we decided to wait till after work. So when we finally decided to get up for our showers we found out we didn't have water. Turns out our pipes froze overnight since it was so cold out, and we had to go over to the gym for our morning showers etc. Not a fun way to start the Friday. But after work it got better. We were off to the pool and swam a quick 3050 yards. After the pool we went to Joioes Pizza (sorry I think I butchered the spelling) in Greensburg for dinner and it was simply awesome. I love their sweet sauce, and it has to be one of my favorite local pizza joints. So after we got home, we again went straight to bed. Anyone see a pattern here?Saturday morning started a very busy Saturday. We got up around 8 and went out for our 9 1/2 mile run. Got home, showered and were off to the afternoon Penguin game with my friend Mike and his wife Lynne. After we got home both of us jumped on the trainers for a quick 20 miles and finished up just in time for the Steeler playoff game. As we layed there on the couch our eyes grew extremely heavy and we were both out by halftime. I heard we missed a good 2nd half of the football game, but they still lost :(
This morning was a little more controlled. Paul was scheduled to arrive at 9:00 AM for our weekend bike ride. Paul and I headed out on the roads today and rode a very hilly 3 hours. (then again we live in Western PA, so every ride is a hilly ride). Put it this way, we ended up climbing over 4K feet total today, and averaged just under 18mph. Not too bad for early January! We got done a little after noon and we both knew we had to hurry to Greensburg for our swim workout since the pool is only open till 2:30. It was a good thing that the swim workout was a little short (2450 yards) and we managed to get it done in under 50 minutes.
Since we got home we've been trying to straighten up and take down our Christmas decorations and also took down the tree. I can hear the vacuum running right now actually, so I better go see if she needs some help.
Tomorrow morning I'm off to Houston Texas for the week. The high in Houston tomorrow calls for 78 degrees, so I can guarantee you I'll be out running my legs off!
